Septacy
Septacy is a 5-piece progressive rock band from Oakland, California that utilizes elements of post-hardcore, jazz, and even Latin dance music to create a unique blend of carefully orchestrated chaos all their own. Their debut album, "Bookends", is a testament to this; featuring complex rhythm and time signature changes, over-the-top vocal harmonies and heavy hitting, anthemic choruses, Septacy aims to be the band that you never knew you needed to hear.
Commissure
Lo-fi bedroom rock from San Francisco. New EP "Sketchbooks + Roadmaps" out on 6/03/16 on Conditions Records.
Shoot the Mariner
SHOOT THE MARINER is an indie rock/emo 4 piece based out of San Luis Obispo. The band began as a culmination of the efforts of Liam Hedriana, Matt Hahn, Daryl Dingman, and Dan Harrington. These four fellow Cal Poly students and alumni shared a common interest in artists including Modest Mouse, Built to Spill, Arctic Monkeys, and Brand New. Dan Potts, an original member of fellow SLO band, Pleasantly, joined the crew in Fall 2014 after Dan Harrington left to pursue his teaching career in Seattle, Washington. Potts, who shared a mutual love of math rock bands such as Toe, and American Football, was an immediate perfect fit. Since then, the band went on to self release their debut record, "Undergrounds," in September 2015.
Rex Means King
Rex Means King formed in 2017, when members of psych-alt rock band Tarzandragon wanted to continue making music after the band entered an indefinite hiatus. However, RmK got to work quick, and started booking shows in the Sacramento and SF Bay Area immediately, as well as recording a 4 track demo at Earthtone Studios in Sac. Their music is self described as progressive psychedelic math-gaze. Keep on the lookout for Rex Means King's demo later this year and a full length planned for shortly after.
