Midi Matilda
Oakland-based electropop duo Midi Matilda is the fruit of a long collaboration between Logan Grimé and Skyler Kilborn, two musicians who met at college in 2008 and have been making music ever since. They craft the kind of catchy indie-flavoured pop gems that worm their way into your brain and stay there for days on end. Filled with bubbly synths, careless falsetto vocals and punchy beats, the band’s debut EP, Red Light District, has been getting a lot of heat since its release. After listening to the single “Day Dreams”, it’s easy to see what the hype is about. This feel-good anthemic track gives you an instant rush of positive energy, which will linger on long after the last notes have faded… So sit back and enjoy…
Meet Me In Orbit
Meet Me in Orbit is a bay area synthpop duo formed by Jared Brannan and Brandon Bews. MMO is a self-produced project, fueled by a mutual love for analog synthesizers and drawing inspiration from a broad mix of musical interests. In early 2015, they released their debut EP (Traveller). Traveller was well-received, with praise coming from Entertainment Weekly and others. Entertainment Weekly lauded their “[…] ability to work their way inside your head and evoke a real emotional response.” Going into 2016, Meet Me in Orbit has just released their second EP (Elsewhere), with their first two singles, 'Hold the Moon' and 'Another Day,' receiving regular airtime on LIVE 105's weekly Soundcheck radio show. LIVE 105's Aaron Axelsen recently listed Meet Me in Orbit as one of Soundcheck’s '40 Top Artists Of 2015.'
Formed in 2014, Talkie consists of drummer Eric Martin, guitarist Christopher Isaacs, and brothers Bradley and Matthew Hagmann. Talkie brings a fresh brand of rock and roll that’s as influenced by 60′s brit-invasion as it is 90′s alternative. Hablas, the self-produced follow-up to their CMJ debut EP, will soon be available via Milkcarton Media Group and Slospeak Records.
