Johnny and the Holy Mackerels
Johnny and the Holy Mackerels are a unique rock n' roll trio from SF, musically somewhere between Bowie, QOTSA, and the Beach Boys. Consisting of just a heavy guitar, drums and beautiful vocal harmonies.
Maya Hall
A native of Fukuoka, Japan, Maya Hall moved to San Francisco in 2014 in search of bigger musical pastures. She had been a part of the music scene as a respected vocalist, taking part in a variety of different acts in Fukuoka and Tokyo. Since moving to San Francisco, she has trained herself how to play the guitar in order to write her own songs, and has done so with the same musical agility she reveals when she sings. Like her voice, her guitar playing is equally her own silky and sweet style. When she plays, her chord progressions, dainty riffs and interesting rhythms match her soul exactly.
The Royal Panics
A 'melange of old school garage and punk is what they are all about... layered in catchy riffs.' (Orcasound ) The Royal Panics want you to want them. In 2017, the rock punk trio performed a few shows at SXSW in Austin as well as Noise Pop. Completing their debut vinyl LP at Tiny Telephone in San Francisco, they celebrated with a sold-out all-ages Friday at Bottom of the Hill. Singer Greg Hoy' 'clear-eyed rock is fueled by straight-up melodicism' (Time Out NY), and rhythm section 'Nicholson and Galway provide the super solid rhythms that drive these tracks.' (babysue)
