Gone to Ground
Musically inventive, orchestral and punchy as all hell, a celebration of all things guitar, this new band from production wizard and multi-instrumentalist Paul Simmans and Frightwig co-founder Mia d'Bruzzi chronicles the controlled folly of adulthood, the vicissitudes of life and an examination of the process of death.
The Insufferables
The Insufferables can be described as a schizophrenic blend of the New York Dolls, XTC and REM. They present jangle and crunch guitars, frequently in the same song, and unusually articulate vocals in the idiom of Lux interior or Standard Ridgeway that convey our important messages of love, animal welfare and naughty sex. They were formed in 2009 by a handful of San Francisco musicians looking for a loud outlet to express the songs trapped within.
David Microwave
Former keyboardist and singer from Los Microwaves; early session recordings featured a new wave "super-band" including: Steve Berlin (Los Lobos) on Sax, Knox Chandler (Psychedelic Furs) on Guitar, Jack Robinson (Gary Window) on Bass and Robert Williams (Capt. Beefheart) on Drums. Pure '80s synthesizer pop also featured on Rodney Bingenheimer's Rodney On The Rock Vol. I compilation.
